Philippines’ Secretary of National Defence
pays official visit to Deputy Minister of Defence
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Retired
Colonel Pehin Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin, Wednesday received
an official visit by the Republic of Philippines’ Secretary of National
Defence. The Honourable Gilberto C. Teodoro and delegation arrived in
Brunei on 15th July for a 2-day official visit on invitation to attend
His Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary.
Present to welcome the visitors were the
Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Pehin Dato
Paduka Seri Haji Halbi; the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of
Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Abd. Majid and the Deputy Permanent
Secretaries at the ministry. The Honourable Gilberto C. Teodoro was
accorded a Guard of Honour mounted by personnel from the 2nd Battalion
of the Royal Brunei Land Force. He later paid a courtesy call on the
Deputy Minister of Defence to discuss bilateral cooperation in defence
and issues of mutual concern. This was followed by a briefing on the
Defence White Paper and a discussion session on current security issues
in the region.
