HAPPY has successfully raise awareness
amongst youth on dangers of HIV/AIDS diseases
The HIV Awareness Programme for Peers and
Youth or HAPPY for short has been deemed successful in raising awareness
amongst youth on the dangers and threats of HIV and Aids diseases. The
three-month-long project was organised by the Youth and Sports
Department.
The Sentient Team held an event, Friday to
mark the success. In his address, the Head Officer of Youth and Sports,
Awang Haji Malik bin Haji Mohammad amongst other things highlighted on
the programme’s targeted objective at raising awareness amongst Brunei’s
young and the society at large on the risks of HIV. The programme he
said encouraged youths at making wise preferences pertaining to social
issues in particular permissiveness and disseminating knowledge on how
to deal with HIV and AIDS to their peers. The HAPPY Programme
encompassed all the four districts, 13 schools and associations as well
as two mosques and a uniform agency.
