Pupils from Foundation Primary School
make visit to Art and Handicraft Centre
A group of pupils from the Sultan Haji
Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation Primary School, Monday made a visit to the
Brunei Art and Handicraft Training Centre to take a closer look at the
handicraft work carried out there. The group was welcomed by the Head
of the Brunei Art and Handicraft Training Centre, Awang Zainal Arshad
bin Haji Abdul Rahman. Among the pupils was His Majesty’s
granddaughter, Princess Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah.
The Art and Handicraft Training Centre
showcases various handicrafts, such as songket-weaving, silver smithing,
keris-making and basket-weaving. The centre provides training for local
youths who are interested in art and crafts. During the visit, the
pupils watched closely how the Art and Handicraft Training Centre’s
first-year students carry out their work.
