Home Ministry strives towards upgrading
productivity and quality of its services
The Ministry of Home Affairs is always
working towards upgrading productivity and quality of service to the
public. This is one of its continuous innovative efforts through
application of the Quality Control Circle programme. This was stated by
the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs at a kesyukuran
ceremony for the Fire and Rescue Services’ success in the National Level
Quality Control Circle Convention Competition 2008. Dato Paduka Haji
Serbini bin Ali also said the Quality Control Circle method can give
satisfaction to junior officers when they are able to tackle a certain
problem and make suggestions for the solution. The Permanent Secretary
added besides that it could also identify systematically the work
process problem or work achievement and ways of solving the problem
through QCC. He further stressed the importance for QCC practitioners
to build a consensus in the interest of the ministry or department.
The Permanent Secretary then presented
souvenirs to the participants of the ‘A’ team from the Fire and Rescue
Services, one of the teams representing the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The team won the Silver Award with its project on “Reducing Property
Loss in a Fire”, at the 11th National Quality Control Circle Convention
held from the 3rd to the 5th of November. The ceremony took place at
the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Fire and Rescue Services Department in
Berakas.
