LTD-RBPF joint operation culminate with
29 summons issued
The Road Safety Council was established to
support the government’s desire and efforts in reducing road accidents
and to ensure safe road conditions for road users. Wednesday, the Royal
Brunei Police Force and Land Transport Department held a joint operation
where 23 summons were issued. 14 of them were for expired road tax
while other offences included 6 modification cases, 2 expired driving
licenses and one use of mobile phone while driving. Meanwhile, 6
compound summons were also issued. They were four cases of failure to
show road tax stickers and two cases of registration number plates that
did not conform to regulations.
The operation was carried out by more than 30
officers from the Land Transport Department and the Traffic Control
Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force. The
inspection also focused on prevention of accidents involving private and
commercial vehicles. The operation was carried out on the Jalan
Muara-Tutong Highway.
